If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:

  • If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim
  • For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin
  • If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse
  • If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province
  • If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records
  • If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced
  • If the collection is solely for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes
  • If the information is publicly available and is specified by the regulations

joraleka.com is operated by THE ECOMMERCE STORE BASE LLC ("Joraleka", "we", "us"). When you subscribe to our updates, request a quote or request a demo, we share a limited amount of your personal data with the service providers listed below. They act as our processors and may only use your data to provide their service to us, under a data processing agreement.
  • Formcarry (Teijal, Inc.) — Newsletter subscription. To receive and store the message you send us when you subscribe to our updates. Personal data shared: your email address, together with a tag and the address of the page you submitted the form from. Location and transfer safeguard: stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The provider is based in the United States and its staff may access the data from there; that access is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Formcarry's Data Processing Agreement.
  • Formcarry (Teijal, Inc.) — Quotation requests. To receive and store your request when you ask us for a quote. Personal data shared: your company, first and last name, email address, username, customer type, Shopify customer identifier where you have one, whether you already have a store, your Shopify store URL, the deadline you choose and the description of your request. Location and transfer safeguard: stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The provider is based in the United States and its staff may access the data from there; that access is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Formcarry's Data Processing Agreement.
  • Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, an Intuit company). To let us email you when Cart Editor launches, if you use the launch-notification form. Personal data shared: your email address. Nothing else. This flow has run on the live storefront since 16 September 2026. Location and transfer safeguard: United States. EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (under Intuit); Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback. Mailchimp's Data Processing Addendum.
  • Google — Demo requests. Google LLC (Google Workspace) stores the request in a Google Sheet, through an Apps Script on Joraleka's own Workspace account: name, work email, store URL and need. Data is processed in the US and the EU, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses of Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum (cloud.google.com/terms/data-processing-addendum).
  • Slack — Demo requests. Slack (Salesforce, Inc.) receives an internal notification of the request in the channel #joraleka-demo: full name, work email, store URL and need. Data is processed in the United States, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses and processor Binding Corporate Rules of the Salesforce Data Processing Addendum (rev. 04/2026), which Slack's terms reference at slack.com/terms-of-service/data-processing.
  • Earlier demo-request relay (11 June to 7 September 2026). Between 11 June 2026 and 7 September 2026, demo requests submitted on our website were relayed to a Google Sheet and to the Slack channel #joraleka-demo. That earlier relay ended on 7 September 2026 and is disclosed here after the fact. It is distinct from the current demo-request relay described in the Google and Slack entries above.
  • Calendly (Calendly LLC). To let you pick a time for a demo after you submit the Book-a-Demo form. Personal data shared: your name and email address, which the form passes to the booking widget, and the details you enter in the booking form. Calendly's widget also sets its own cookies, managed through Calendly's own cookie banner. Location and transfer safeguard: United States. EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Calendly is self-certified); Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback. Calendly's Data Processing Addendum.
International transfers. Mailchimp and Calendly are located in the United States, and we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which they are certified, keeping the Standard Contractual Clauses in place as an additional safeguard. Google processes demo requests in the United States and the European Union, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses of Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Slack processes the notification of a demo request in the United States, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses and processor Binding Corporate Rules of the Salesforce Data Processing Addendum. Formcarry stores your data in the European Union, and where its staff access it from outside the European Economic Area we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards at privacy@joraleka.com.

Data we keep to a minimum. We share only what each provider needs, and we do not copy your data between these flows. Subscribing to our updates sends an email address, a tag and the address of the page you submitted from. Requesting a quote sends the details you fill in on that form. Using the launch-notification form sends an email address alone. Using the Book-a-Demo form passes your name and email address to Calendly, which then shows you its booking calendar. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.
